US US politics

A Democratic politician used a photo of Trump and Giuliani to oppose an anti-drag law and it’s simply spectacular

Congressman Robert Garcia made a compelling argument against a proposed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) amendment that would ban funding for drag acts being used to entertain the troops. It comes 12 months after a ban on such acts performing on military bases.

The kicker was that he used a screenshot of a skit made for the 2000 Inner Circle Dinner for Charity, at the New York Hilton featuring a couple of familiar faces – Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani.

Watch what happened.

“The army that defeated Hitler and saved the world included drag queens.”

Congressman Garcia pointed out the hypocrisy behind the Republican obsession with drag.

Despite his sterling efforts, the amendment passed, but Twitter/X appreciated it.

Hands up if you’d like to see that poster turning up in the crowd at Trump rallies.

Of course, it isn’t just the US Army that has traditionally enjoyed a bit of drag.

In case you were curious, here’s the very short full skit. It’s of poor visual quality but that might be a blessing due to Trump going full Trump.
