Someone asked ‘What image from the last 14 years will you remember when you vote on Thursday?’ – a gallery of misery

Can it really be happening? Are the Tories finally about to be given the boot? Dare we hope that the nightmare is finally ending (or beginning, depending on your point of view).

The polls would certainly suggest so but… well, we’ll believe it when we see it.

Poet, comedian and writer Henry Normal (The Royle Family, Paul and Pauline Calf Video Diaries, Mrs Merton Show) asked his Twitter/X followers what image they would have in their minds when they come to stick that all-important X into the box on election day.

It generated a comprehensive gallery showing some of the Tories ‘greatest hits’ from the last 14 years. It’s mostly dispiriting, at times disturbing, and definitely anger-inducing stuff – but there are one or two lighter moments.
