Joe Biden came out battling – kind of – to convince people he really was the man to run for President against Donald Trump despite his shambolic first debate with his Republican challenger.

And it’s fair to say it didn’t go entirely to plan. Not least when he introduced Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky as ‘President Putin’

Such an awful moment, and the look on Zelensky’s face is the only one you need.

And it didn’t get any better – in fact, it got even worse, when Biden referred to Kamala Harris as ‘vice president Trump’.

Something’s got to give? You’d have thought so, although there was always this.

But the wave of concern – and ridicule – was basically a tsunami.
