People enjoyed this LBC man’s takedown of a Sun journalist who called him a ‘prick’
To Fleet Street now – not that there are any journalists on Fleet Street any more – where a particularly entertaining spat went viral with a payoff that made everyone’s day better.
It started when the estimable Lewis Goodall of LBC and @thenewsagents podcast made a rather good gag about England’s Euros defeat and the idea of an extra bank holiday floated by PM Sir Keir Starmer.
The thing is we’re going for growth and couldn’t have afforded the bank holiday anyway

Bravo sir.
Basically it will come home when the OBR says it’s ok

Except not everyone appreciated it, and when we say ‘not everyone’ we mean the Sun’s political editor, Harry Cole.
Don’t be a prick mate https://t.co/3UdcAcLT5B

And we’re very glad he did – kind of – because the LBC man’s response was player of the match stuff.
As the political editor of a joke outfit I thought you’d be quicker on the uptake

Boom.
Hey @metpoliceuk I’d like to report a murder https://t.co/QLlfiykM1x

I think it is safe to say Lewis Goodall has won X tonight with this savage burn of the Sun "newspaper".#ENGSPA https://t.co/Z657WliLJO

Last word to the great Richard Bacon.
Harry sent me a DM recently saying “You still on the sniff mate? Fuck off”.
I don’t think wit, nuance or making a thought out, weighted, considered, sophisticated argument are his thing. https://t.co/ohggDHPcXA— richard bacon (@richardpbacon) July 14, 2024
