People have been sharing the most unfortunate genuine last names they know – 23 of the best (or worst)

Someone with the Pratchettesque username LeviTheRelentless asked the people of Reddit this question –

What is the most unfortunate last name you’ve seen someone have?

We’ve all known people with unfortunate names – Mrs Grassbottom, I’m looking at you – and there are more than 4000 replies at the time of writing.

We picked 23 that are mostly pretty bloody unfortunate, or just plain quirky. Apologies if your name made the list.

My 95 year old step-father is Dick Small. Serious. It’s actually Richard, but he was born during the great depression era and grew up being called “Dick” and never understood the “cringe” factor. He married my mother (who is 20 years younger, and I’m GenX.) when I was young. Waiting for a table at restaurants was the worst. But l love the man to death.
