The internet gave this year’s Christmas TV schedule the thumbs down – but these 18 reviews get the full five stars

Wallace and Gromit is a a new one and therefore a yes. Replace the rest with re runs of Dave Allen.

You may think this looks poor but ITV aired this exact schedule every single day during lockdown.

This is lazy, bad, cheap, and actually offensive scheduling. No excuse not to put some kids programming on first thing, absolutely ludicrous to show two cooking shows between 12-2pm, the game shows are lazy, and I am genuinely astonished at the insertion of Trump into the day.

Seems a good time to bring this old chestnut out: 1972, the year IBA ordered ITV to scrap its entire Christmas schedule as the programmes were "too entertaining".

It is weird how the BBC have pulled a flagship programme from the Christmas schedule because of allegations of misconduct while ITV are happy to run an old film with a convicted rapist right after the Kings speech on Christmas day

This has made me acknowledge that I enjoy reading the Christmas Radio Times more than I enjoy watching a lot of the stuff that's on. Which just sounds mad.

Nonsense. Can't watch Strictly that early, how's my dad going to ask who the professional is after every single dance if he's busy trying to sort out the roasties?

This should be a red button option.

I'm all up for just resetting the clock. Start showing Christmas day TV from 1978 and then just keep going forward year by year. Like Top of the Pops on BBC 4
