Politics elon musk GB News nigel farage
Elon Musk ditching Nigel Farage was already good, but watching GB News try to come to terms with it was great
We’re only a few days in but it already looks like 2025 is shaping up to be the year of the Musk. Yes, even more so than 2024.
Already Donald Trump’s right hand man (or maybe that should be the other way round) Musk is now dipping his wick (on Twitter, obviously) into various democracies around the world, including, of course, the UK.
Suggestions that Musk might donate £100m to Reform UK look to be premature after he rapidly ditched its leader, Nigel ‘but I thought you were my best mate’ Farage, saying he simply didn’t have what it takes.
The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.

Here’s what Farage said in response, fighting back the tears on Twitter.
Well, this is a surprise! Elon is a remarkable individual but on this I am afraid I disagree.
My view remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for Reform and I never sell out my principles. https://t.co/V7iccN6usS

But amusing as all this was – and, by the looks of all these responses, people found it very amusing indeed – it was nothing compared to the state of GB News trying to come to terms with it all.
Here’s former Daily Star editor Dawn Neesom delivering the breaking news to their viewer(s).

And here is just a little bit of the fun people had watching that.
This is so delicious and nutritious.

Only one question remained.
Now, which way does GB News pivot?
Musk, the South African immigrant they’ve been gleefully cheering on for using his vast wealth to influence UK politics?
Or, Farage, their flagship presenter?

To conclude …
