‘I work at a pet supply store. One time a customer called to set up a delivery. He wanted a dog toy in his order but didn’t know which one. I had to pick out toys and squeak them into the phone for him until he heard the “right one.”’

‘I was a waitress in Germany with many Swiss patrons. Our restaurant graciously accepted Swiss Francs, but we’d give Euros as change. Every day Swiss people yelled at me why we don’t carry Swiss Francs IN GERMANY.
‘SWITZERLAND IS NOT PART OF THE EU AND THAT IS A YOU PROBLEM.

‘I don’t know if this counts but when I was working at HMV, a woman came in asking if we had a copy of 3 Dalmatians. To clarify, I asked “3 Dalmatians?” And she angrily answered “I don’t know, there could be more.”

‘I was a restaurant manager and a guy came in and said he deserved a free pie because he had bought a pie from another restaurant (not mine, not even same chain) and it had “a piece of plastic” in it. I said ‘what’ and he gave me a list of the only flavors that he would accept.’

‘My 1st job was bagging groceries & carrying them to people’s cars. One day I bagged this lady’s groceries and followed her into the parking lot. Without saying a word, she walks 2 miles home with me trailing the whole way. It got me out of the store, so it was pretty chill.’

‘I managed a museum that would close sometimes for private events. During one of these events, a woman and her daughter arrived, wanting to see the museum. When I said it was closed, she demanded we give them a gift card to the museum store and pay for a taxi back to their hotel.’

‘A customer once asked me to not slice their bagel but to “chop it up into a bunch of random pieces.” I thought he was joking. He was not.’

‘I worked in the Science Library at UC Santa Cruz. A patron refused to sign out her books (this was loooonnng ago) because she “couldn’t touch paper,” a “medical condition.” I pointed out that the books would present a similar problem and she told me off for being “an idiot”.’
