The White House military leak scandal sent this Pete Hegseth clip from just 3 days ago wildly viral and it’s magnificent
As you will probably have read about elsewhere today, all eyes on are the White House after an extraordinary cock-up saw top secret military plans leaked to a journalist after they were shared on a group chat.
American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, @JeffreyGoldberg. https://t.co/jvBzeJwEuy

Donald Trump said he didn’t know anything about it, which it’s fair to say wasn’t the defence he presumably thought it was.
But one supremely satisfying consequence was that it sent this clip of defence secretary and former Fox News mouthpiece Pete Hegseth wildly viral.
It’s from just three days ago – THREE DAYS ago – and it’s just magnificent.

Fair play to the dude, it’s not fools they’re being called today. It’s utter cretins. And here are our favourite things people said about it.

Hegseth just inadvertently let a reporter have access highly sensitive real time planning discussions and the subsequent bombing attack with the VP and most senior members of the Trump cabinet & national security team in on the discussions. Hegseth is a national embarrassment. https://t.co/j8iYWfG49e
