JD Vance didn’t wait for an invite to visit Greenland and the rest of the world replied as one and it was simply beautiful
When he’s not wanging on about making Canada the 51st state of America, Donald Trump has been busy drooling over maps of Greenland, intent on taking the country for himself, er, for the national security of the US and the western world.
Greenland and basically the rest of the world is rather less keen on the idea, but that didn’t stop the Trump administration announcing that vice president JD Vance’s wife Usha was going to visit on Friday, presumably to measure for curtains.
And now it turns out JD Vance is going to go with her, and no-one was more excited about it than the vice president.
Looking forward to visiting Greenland on Friday! pic.twitter.com/p3HslD3hhP

Maybe he is going to explore their supplies of naturally occurring cringe, because ours just ran out.
And the rest of the world – well, not the whole of the world obviously, but quite a lot of it – responded as one.

No means No. Greenland people voted 85% against you. Stop harrassing them like psychopaths.

You are visiting the people you insult. It’s rich you talk about people “threatening Greenland.” You should hear yourself.
Also, stop using signal to talk about extremely sensitive information regarding national security.

This isn’t diplomacy but a performative arrogance dressed up as a couples’ getaway.
JD Vance brushing off Greenland’s Prime Minister as if international relations are a photo-op shows a dangerous lack of respect for sovereignty and basic statecraft.
If a foreign leader…

He wasn’t even invited.
And the democratic govt of the people of Greenland (both outgoing and incoming) were angry about even his wife visiting.
That’s how much he cares about the people of Greenland. https://t.co/JJGZoOvCBO
