JD Vance claimed the Signal Gate story had been ‘oversold’ and was schooled into the next millennium
While Donald Trump’s ‘Signal Gate’ defence appears to be consist of a variety of ‘I don’t know’ and ‘I didn’t know’ and ‘I have no intention of finding out’, his vice president JD Vance decided to go on the attack on Twitter.
The VP took time out from shaking his fist at maps of Europe to suggest that Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg, the journalist who was looped into the top secret Signal group chat containing classified information about a forthcoming military attack, had ‘oversold’ his extraordinary scoop.
It’s very clear Goldberg oversold what he had. But one thing in particular really stands out.

And we’re glad he did – in a way – because it wasn’t just a proverbial bucket of shit that was poured over Vance’s head in response, it was an entire skip.
