So much so that Musk and the groups he backs spent a reported $21m in a bid to defat opponent, Judge Susan Crawford, personally travelling to Wisconsin to hand out $1m cheques to two votes. Corruption? What corruption?
Except it all came to nothing after the Democratic-backed Crawford was elected, keeping intact the 4-3 liberal dominance of the Midwestern state’s highest court. The result is likely to have far reaching implications, even affecting the balance of power in the US Congress.
