Eager fans have been queuing up around the clock at bookshops in order to be the first to get their hands on the report, which Chilcot promises will have a ‘truly epic’ finale to it that is ‘well worth the seven year wait’.

“We thought people were excited when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, but the buzz around Chilcot’s Iraq Report sets a new standard” said the manager of one bookshop.

“Some die-hard fans have been queuing up for days, many are even cosplaying as Tony Blair or George Bush.”

“If you are lucky enough to be the first to read the report than I ask that you please don’t spoil it for everyone who hasn’t had a chance to read it yet,” said Chilcot at a packed signing of the report this morning.

“I’m now very keen to get back to working on the next report in the Iraq Saga, which I’m co-authoring with George R. R. Martin – it should be finished by 2034.”
