See this brilliant set of consequences a kid drew up for forgetting to open the Advent calendar

Reddit user Jagm_11, also called Jack, has shared the terms and conditions drawn up by his brother Will, which relate to the forfeits should either of them forget to open their Advent calendar, or Advent tree, as he refers to it. They’re pretty comprehensive.

They say:

“3 strikes and you’re out!

If you get 3 strikes, you will be relieved of your duty of the advent tree

Come to Will’s room if you have any complaints

One strike counts as doing the tree past 08:06 (weekdays) or 10:30 on weekends

Jack will do even dates
Will will do odd dates”

As Jack has already slipped up once, we assume Will is hoping for him to do it twice more so he can claim full control of the calendar. Cunning kid!
