Builders’ cafe accidentally awarded a Michelin star. Here’s what happened next

A workers’ cafe was mistakenly awarded a Michelen star after it was confused with another French restaurant of the same name.

Le Bouche à Oreille in Bourges in central France serves a €12.50 fixed lunch including homemade lasagne.

It looks like this.

The other Le Bouche à Oreille is about 100 miles away in Boutervilliers, near Paris.

It serves a €48.50 fixed lunch menu, which inludes calf’s brain, lobster flan, chocolate pear crisp and a glass of champagne, obviously.

It looks like this.

“We’re swamped,” said Veronique Jacquet, who runs the (somewhat smaller) Le Bouche à Oreille which is popular with truckers stopping by for a bite to eat.

“I don’t have much space and there are only four waiters.”

Quelle domage!
