Arise King Allan the, er, first. American claims he is Queen’s rightful heir
In what Hollywood screenwriters would pitch as King Ralph meets Game of Thrones, an American bloke has laid claim to the British throne and says he, not Charles, is the Queen’s rightful heir.
Allan Evans – we’re already convinced, frankly – is from Colorado and is deadly serious about the claim. Well, deadly enough to pay for an advert in the Times newspaper.

He says that in 30 days time he will “claim his royal historic estate” and shall “further pursue an injustice of history by claiming by right the Throne and Sovereign Crown of Great Britain.”
Righto, Al. Can we get you a cup of tea? (Call the cops, call the cops!).
Allan says he is the direct descendant of “Cunedda Wledig, the founder of the kingdom of Wales” which was then known as the kingdom of Gondor just round the corner from Hobbiton, presumably.
The good news is he’ll hold off until the “sad future death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as he will not out of greatest and most deepest respect despose her in life for the great service and selfless sacrifice that she and her husband HRH Prince Philip has rendered to this great nation.”
Run for it!
