Indiscreet crime of the day: man arrested with two stolen lamp-posts on the roof of his car
Police in the Netherlands have arrested a man with two lamp-posts strapped to the top of his car, reports the BBC.
“Cargo should not be transported in this way,” said police from the city of Lelystad in a Facebook post about the arrest.
One person also shared this photo of the lamp post nicker before the arrest.
People also took the piss out of the choice of car, a Renault Twingo. “It could be even crazier,” writes Sjon van Maren.
The BBC adds that the lamp posts were the least of the driver’s problem – he had no insurance, the MOT was out of date, his driver’s licence had expired at the end of 2016 and it’s thought he had filled the car with petrol an not paid for it. Oh, and he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
But let’s end this with some awful puns.
Let's not make light of the situation

Police are hoping that, after interview, the suspect can shed a little more light on what happened exactly?😀😀
