A cautionary tale about buying a £50 “disaster cake” off a Facebook stranger in an alleyway
A woman who wanted to get her bodybuilder friend a cake for his 32nd birthday found the perfect one on Facebook – after paying £50 in advance, she then met the baker in an alleyway behind Wilkos to take delivery, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.
When Sharon Bijin got home and opened the box, she realised it wasn’t quite the “muscle arm” that was advertised.
“She asked me not to open the box up because of the rain – it was really heavy rain so I thought I’d better not. She was lovely and well-spoken, I didn’t think anything of it,” Sharon told the Chronicle.
“It’s absolutely shocking for £50. Some people say it looks like a foetus, some say a baby, a frog or even an alien,”
Sharon messaged the baker on Facebook outlining her complaint but has received no reply -she says the baker has since deleted her account. Read the rest of the article here and find out what kind of cream filling Sharon asked for.
