This letter tells you all you need to know about healthcare in America
This letter to a woman waiting for a heart transplant went viral because it tells you all you need to know about the American health insurance system.
And just in case that’s tricky to read, here’s the important bit.
‘Your medical situation was presented to our multidisciplinary heart transplant committee on Tuesday October 20, 2018.
The decision made by the committee is that you are not a candidate at this time for a heart transplant due to needing more secure financial plan for immunosuppressive medication coverage. The Committee is recommending a fundraising effort of $10,000.
If you have any concerns or questions, please call the transplant office at 616-391-2802.
We thank you for the opportunity to participate in your care. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.’
This is what people made of it online.

This is evil. Essentially, this is a death panel letter. "You are too poor to save."
Please retweet this like your life depends on it, because it does. https://t.co/QOm0nz3IPi

Economic Darwinism at its worst. The American healthcare system is designed to kill and bankrupt the poor and middle class and to benefit the wealthy. There are many words for this. One that comes to mind is: disgusting.
