Krishnan Guru-Murthy shutting down a lying Brexiter MP is this week’s best TV moment
Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s only gone and done it again. The Channel 4 News presenter was interviewing Tory MP John Redwood when the arch Brexiter claimed a majority of the British public now want to leave the EU without a deal.
The C4 News man said this wasn’t the case and when Redwood repeatedly ignored him, this happened …

Just beautifully done sir.

Not only can John Redwood not provide any factual basis for his claim that “polls show a majority now want to leave with no deal”, he accuses @Channel4News of being biased for asking him. So he is chucked off the programme by @krishgm. Why isn’t EVERY news programme doing this? https://t.co/GBPXmSzLZl

Well done Krishnan. If only more journalists would do this. Interrogate and end the interview if questions not being answered or lies perpetuated.

John Redwood is furious that his lying is not accepted. Good. https://t.co/GsV8NXfkO0

Can I just thank @KrishGM for defending the truth. We need lots more of this from our broadcasters.

I used to work in commercials. In the UK ads that could demonstrably be shown to have lied could find their owners fined and ads pulled from the air… Frankly, I think we should hold policy makers to an even higher standard. https://t.co/HbEGKKfZsR

Some proper journalism from @krishgm challenging Mr Redwood's repeated falsehoods. https://t.co/4fMTjce2XN

This is a beautiful thing, and if we'd consistently seen political interviews of this calibre over the last decade, had politicians been called on their lies like this, we wouldn't be where we are now. Thanks @krishgm. #c4news https://t.co/otufDDlIy5

Why, oh why, over the past 3 years, have not all interviewers acted like Krishnan and said to Brexiters "That is not true" when they have uttered their lies. If that had happened, we would not be in the current mess. https://t.co/WvX5PkovB7
