Rula Lenska’s 71 today, so here’s *that* Big Brother moment with George Galloway

Rula Lenska, whose birth name is Róża Maria Leopoldyna Łubieńska, has been appearing on our televisions since 1976 in such highlights as Rock Follies, Minder, One Foot in the Grave and even Coronation Street, but she may never shake her association with an awkward scene during Celebrity Big Brother back in 2006.

The fact that she held it together while politician George Galloway went full-Tabby is as much a testament to her professionalism as it is to his inability to gauge what’s the right way for a politician to garner support. We can’t help wondering if it put her off cats – or just politicians.
