WH Smith blame ‘rogue printer’ for Mother’s Day cards

Mum News: High street retailer WH Smith is blaming the actions of a ‘rogue printer’ for a series of Mother’s Day cards sold in its stores with offensive and inappropriate messages.

“According to our supplier, one of their printers was in a bad mood following an argument with his Mum,” said spokesman Sherry Boutros-Ghali. “The printer in question has since been suspended and urged to mend the fragile relationship with his mother.”

WH Smith promise that the cards – some of which included the messages “Happy Mother’s Day… Now leave me alone for a year” and “Why can’t you understand that I’m an adult now?” – will be withdrawn from sale immediately and burnt in a giant pit.

They have also reportedly made a counselling service available to other printers – in case any of them decide to vent any long-standing grudges against rabbits or eggs this Easter.
