Liz Truss tweeted her wholehearted support for the PM – 14 votes of no confidence

It’s fair to say that Boris Johnson’s non-apology for being at a party during lockdown has gone down like a mask mandate at a Right Said Fred gig.

Those claiming Johnson made a heartfelt apology for the party in May 2020. He did not.
He maintained it was a work event, for which he would not need to apologise. He apologised for the public perception of the event, meaning, I'm sorry that you perceive it the wrong way.

The woman widely touted to replace Boris Johnson as leader of the Tory Party, Liz Truss, either bought the excuse wholeheartedly or was happy to go along with it, because she tweeted this.

We’ve checked thoroughly and she didn’t follow it up with “LOL, jk.”
