David Cameron’s been volunteering at a food bank and the internet spoke as one
Former Prime Minister David Cameron took time out from his busy schedule to share with everyone how he’s been volunteering at a local food bank.
He’s been working at somewhere called the Chippy Larder in west Oxfordshire, having previously worked at the Chipping Norton Food Bank.
For the last two years I’ve been volunteering each week at the Chippy Larder, a food project in my local town, which helps low income families with surplus food from supermarkets (and cuts food waste at the same time). pic.twitter.com/oXZL1os1YM

If only there was some other way Cameron could have done something to help the millions of people less fortunate than him (has he ever considered a career in politics, for instance?)
Anyway, we’re not entirely sure what sort of reaction he was hoping to get, but these 9 responses were totally on-point.

Foodbank use went up 2,612% while David Cameron was Prime Minister.
Apologise for that before you start posing for photos, @David_Cameron. https://t.co/99D5qCtHR2

What an astonishing lack of self-awareness.
Add to that hubris and narcissism.
The architect of austerity which caused the rise of food banks and charities helping to keep people fed in the UK is praising himself for helping out at a foodbank., #WANKER #r4today https://t.co/NnAcs6IbRR— 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐃. 𝐋𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬 (@John_D_Lewis) March 19, 2022

On the one hand you want to say fair play. On the other hand he presided over an austerity policy that literally created this situation. https://t.co/uULBQwEqYb
