Kay Burley’s takedown of this Tory minister over Partygate is magnificently done
Boris Johnson has repeatedly declined to admit rules were broken in Downing Street during lockdown despite the 20 fixed penalty notices issued by the Metropolitan police (with the spectre of more to come).
It was an issue that Sky News presenter Kay Burley was keen to pick up on with Conservative MP and trade secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan today.
And it’s two minutes very well spent.
An absolute masterclass from @KayBurley on @SkyNews in how to hold Government to account. In the process she completely demolishes this Government Minister over #Partygate & the fixed penalty fines issued & exposes the utter contempt in which the Government holds the public pic.twitter.com/1DQBsdG37q

And here are just a few of the things people said about the clip which went viral after it was shared by @PeterStefanovi2 over on Twitter.
There's "out of your depth" … and then there's this. 😂

I don't know what you think, but I think the response from this govt minister is really at the heart of what is wrong with our country.

Every time these ministers defend this lying crook in No 10 they demean themselves and debase standards in public life further. Agreed well done @KayBurley for wrestling the blancmange into submission https://t.co/rSwUGcLcLs
