Adil Ray just won comeback of the day

Latest in an occasional series, comeback of the day goes to Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray.

The actor, writer, documentary maker and much else besides was on the ITV breakfast show today quizzing the mostly hapless Northern Ireland secretary Brandon Lewis over Partygate.

Do you accept the PM has broken the Ministerial Code? – @adilray

Brandon Lewis doesn’t believe he has broken the Ministerial Code.

He says the PM ‘outlined what he believed to be true and correct at the time.’

And the line of questioning didn’t please everyone – just most people – and this person took particular umbrage.

And we’re rather glad he did because it enabled @adilray to respond with this.

We hope that clarified the situation for them.

And apparently it did, the original poster saying they were “sorry for the false accusation” in a (since deleted) tweet.
