Jacob Rees-Mogg targets working-from-home civil servants with a barbed calling card
The issue of people working from home has become something of a battleground between workers who would like to keep its flexibility, and those insisting that it was simply a Covid precaution and should be scrapped now that *checks notes* Covid is over.
Ministers are finally to tell civil servants to go back to their desks as75 per cent still work from home. They should lead by example

But why? Why does people being productive working from home bother the right-wing press and government so much? pic.twitter.com/XZ2VO5Zdqe

Fascinated by this obsessive belief amongst right wing elites that home working is unpopular when it's the one positive most office workers have taken from the pandemic. pic.twitter.com/9C6VwmH75i

Jacob Rees-Mogg, Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency, has been banging the drum for an end to remote working, and one way he’s been getting the message across is via this calling card.

We’d love to know what the recipients of the message have to say about it, but if it’s anything like these responses, it’s not going to make anyone want to spend more time near Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Going down about as well as you'd expect. Civil servant messages: "If only there were some Brexit opportunities to keep him occupied" https://t.co/G56igUvx0O

Hasn’t @Jacob_Rees_Mogg got more important things to be doing than pottering around leaving creepy notes for public servants?
We’re not in the 18th Century now.

On the very day that 650 people died of Covid…
..Jacob Rees-Mogg was going round pinning passive aggressive notes on peoples’ desks who were either working remotely or were ill. https://t.co/dlms2Jfgb9
