This Canadian airport spokesperson was telling one story while the camera told another
The CEO of Toronto Airport Authority, Deborah Flint, was giving the press an update on the state of the service, when a camera operator added some context.
Watch what happened.
😂 very tone deaf press conferences, Deborah Flint CEO Toronto Airport Authority, claims huge improvements in on time flights, the camera pans up to the flight board directly over head where the vast majority of flights are late or cancelled! Too funny! pic.twitter.com/XknwRGZheL

Well, that’s a bit awkward – or hilarious, depending on your point of view. These people went with option two.
1.
Amazing story telling by the camera operator here.

This video sums up the entire western world.
"Don't worry guys, I'm in charge, and here to assure you everything is getting better, and there's nothing to worry about."

Camera operators and editors have always been the backbone of any successful news operation. Good to see a few are still standing. https://t.co/gJzY36gmeo

In the interest of full disclosure, Toronto Pearson Airport insisted that it wasn’t quite how it seemed.
This Tweet is taking off ✈️. We get it – but these are arrivals from other airports, which we don’t control. Even the ones battling bad weather today.
— Toronto Pearson (@TorontoPearson) July 18, 2023
But also …
Going through Pearson from an International or US flight to Ottawa is a nightmare. You stand in line forever for customs only to have to go through security all over again like it's your first flight. Montreal never has this problem. I plan trips specifically to avoid Pearson.

I’m guessing 90% of those flights are turnarounds that originated at YYZ based on what I see on the board. And how many of those departed Pearson late, causing the delayed arrival? Just sayin’

In my experience this is an Air Canada problem no matter where they are taking off or landing.
