We’re grateful to u/Trickyhobo for sharing a poor review for an Indian restaurant that was posted by a woman who was ‘upset she was “rushed” after being given a table on a busy Saturday night without a reservation’.
This was her petulant two-star review.
The restaurant owner recognised the disgruntled customer and posted this clarification.
Well done to the author of that response for walking the very fine line between absolutely professional good manners and putting the selfish idiot in their place.

I don’t think I would call restaurants money making rackets but they are most definitely a business. They may very well want to offer good food and a pleasant experience but they are there to make money. No one opens up a restaurant so that you can have an overdue catch up with your family.

I’ve definitely taken a table that has an impending reservation. They always tell you. You have to know when that happens that you cannot waste time chatting. This is basic dining knowledge.
