You won’t believe Hulk Hogan’s Simon Cowell anecdote – because it’s a pack of lies
Hulk Hogan is one of the most recognisable figures to have emerged from the world of wrestling – or entertainment in general, and it’s no surprise that he has a wealth of showbiz stories ready to share with friends and interviewers alike.
When he spoke to one fitness magazine, he recalled how he came to be instrumental in getting Simon Cowell involved in US-based entertainment – and it’s a wild, wild ride.
Hulk Hogan did an interview with "Muscle and Health Magazine" and it's the wildest Hogan interview ever for lies per minute. The kid he made up who died before he wrestled at Wembley Stadium now died AT Wembley Stadium after Hogan noticed a death odor. And then there's just MORE. pic.twitter.com/lVz7nXpnv4

“We stayed up all night and we wrote 12 songs for the kid’s family, and I didn’t know anybody in the U.K. and Jimmy knew somebody from Select Records and they got hold of Simon Cowell.
He produced the little album for us and it went number one on Billboard for eight weeks, so we gave the money to the kid’s family.”
What a tragic story and incredibly generous response. There’s just one problem – it’s absolute BS.
Let's count the bullshit here
1) Never performed at Wembley Stadium
2) The dying child at the show
3) His album never made it anywhere close to a number one
4) The album was close to ten years AFTER the wrestling album
5) Simon Cowell had nothing to do with Rock n' Wrestling https://t.co/Z9YzWfePuM— Richard Young (@Youngy316) August 24, 2023
Tweeters had quite a few thoughts on the tale – and we doubt that Hulk Hogan would be keen on them.

Hogan wrote "Hulkster in Heaven" in '92 in memory of a kid at Wembley he saw when he wrestled for WCW there in '94, then was so impressed with the album sales that he time-travelled back to '85 with Simon Cowell to produce The Wrestling Album for WWF.
WHY WON'T YOU BELIEVE HIM?

Next year, that dead child will actually be Andre the Giant and Hogan will get himself investigated by police for killing the kid by bodyslamming him to smash the 900 pound tumor. https://t.co/P3JPmiE5bc

For someone who genuinely has a good reputation for his charity work, the fact that Hogan feels the needs to lie about that too is so pathetic. https://t.co/1jtn5qAgPj

A few people pointed out why it’s particularly odd for the wrestling superstar to invent showbiz stories.
Regardless of who he is as a person, Hulk Hogan had a legitimately amazing career filled with huge accomplishments, which makes it super bizarre for him to greatly embellish or outright invent things. And yet… https://t.co/DgKu4OJj5x
