Nigel Farage is fuuuuming at the FCA for shooting down his bank accusations
Remember when a certain set of media outlets spent weeks in a blood-pressure-threatening rage because Nigel Farage had been denied a bank account for his political beliefs*?
*Offered a different bank account because he didn’t meet the financial criteria for his Coutts account
Well …the investigation into it has come to a conclusion, and it doesn’t back Farage’s claims.
Financial Conduct Authority finds no proof that politicians' bank accounts are being closed primarily because of their views, the BBC understandshttps://t.co/C1a2dZJesF

Mr Farage was not a bit happy.
He said a lot more in an angry video, calling the report a whitewash. Shocking, we know.
This is what tweeters have been saying about the report and Farage’s reaction.

There is nothing less surprising than finding out Nigel Farage was.. shall we say… inaccurate in his representation of the facts. pic.twitter.com/oRZplnbz2U

However ridiculous & gullible it keeps making them look, right-wing media has to take Farage’s endless whining & bogus victimhood seriously because it has somehow become synonymous with Brexit. They can’t tell the truth about either.

"initial findings showed the primary reason for accounts being closed, suspended or denied was either that the account was inactive, or that they had concerns that the customer was involved in financial crime."

Farage is of course having a total meltdown, because he is generally uncomfortable when experts verify things and talk in facts. https://t.co/MizzZ3kEMv

Sorry about the delay, but I’ve just been reading the findings of the FCA report about ‘Faragegate’ and to save you a lot of time, I’ve written this thread of all the evidence they found of public figures having their bank accounts closed because of their political views.

Let me guess Farage’s response…
“It’s quite clear the FCA are a bunch of rabid lefty, woke remoaners who will never accept the decision of the British public in 2016 to leave the EU. The FCA needs to be abolished immediately and they should let me mark my own homework”

Of course. The banks are biased against him, so must be referred to the regulator. Then, when the regulators don't give Farage the answer he wants, they are biased against him and must be replaced … until they do https://t.co/DFSyqGFE5v

Ludicrous how much airtime broadcasters gave to this Farage created non story: “The UK’s financial regulator has found no evidence showing banks shut or denied accounts to customers based on their political beliefs.” https://t.co/ImxhYt5CD6

Remember all the front pages and the garment rending and the frantic reaction?
Will this get equal coverage? Of course not. This is why our public figures continue to make stuff up. They are rewarded for their bad behaviour. ~AA https://t.co/45wzJfQI1i

We’ll just leave this here.
First they came for Nigel Farage and I said “it’s that bloke over there pointing at the sea”.
