Politics general election nigel farage
Susanna Reid swatted Farage’s BS after he blamed a vetting firm for Reform candidates following a Fascist on Facebook
Last week, it emerged that 41 Reform UK candidates are Facebook friends with neo-Fascist leader Gary Raikes.
41 Reform UK candidates are Facebook friends with Fascist Party leader Gary Raikes.
What's the excuse this time @reformparty_uk did their fingers all slip? Were 41 candidates "researching" the leader of the Fascist party?

That included this absolute peach of a guy, but not the more than 100 others who had already been removed as candidates after their abhorrent views were pointed out to the party.
Reform candidate, Jack Aaron thinks Hitler was “brilliant” and that President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was “legitimate”.
These people are the very opposite of patriotic and should be nowhere near politics.https://t.co/t6iVe3sYRK

When Nigel Farage appeared on Good Morning Britain to promote Reform’s ‘contract with the people’, Susanna Reid wanted answers.
'How can you defend 41 candidates for your party found to be social media friends of a Fascist leader?' – @susannareid100
Nigel Farage says there will be a story coming out at lunchtime today where people will hear how Reform UK paid a large sum of money to a reputable vetting… pic.twitter.com/2iRkzcPpV0

He seemed rattled.
“Look, most of our candidates are not political sophisticates. Alright?”
“We paid a very large sum of money to a reputable vetting company who didn’t do the work.”
Twitter/X commented on the spectacle of the omnipresent Reform leader being held to account.

His arguments crumple like a wet paper bag any time he’s exposed to even the slightest scrutiny. He then switches into the aggressive head-thrusting, finger-jabbing nastiness that’s always lurking just underneath the phoney hail-fellow-well-met facade.

Nigel Farage, when confronted with the fact that 41 of his candidates are friends with a Fascist leader: “Most of our candidates are not political sophisticates”. How reassuring.

'I didn't even know what this bloke's name was until last Thursday.'
'But when I heard his name was Benito Franco Hitler Oswald the Third, he sounded like just the kind of guy we need!'

Farage sort of suggested that Reform candidates are dim.

Who was in charge of their vetting company? Anders Breivik?
Another lie from Farage. Another attempt to pass the buck. https://t.co/27NtrSEx8m

Farage blaming a vetting company for Reform still having too many weird/extreme candidates. (The enhanced vetting began after they dropped 100 candidates, but they didn't have time).
Farage now choosing to keep candidates for doing the things Tice was sacking them for. https://t.co/GmsyjXvyG8

That’s the thing with Nigel farage – it’s always someone else’s fault …. https://t.co/naXwHLrtO3

Schroedinger's vetting process – must stop hateful racists and nazi sympathisers but simultaneously allow Nigel Farage through. https://t.co/tTVOZph4g9

To attract one Hitler admiring Putin appeaser as a prospective parliamentary candidate is unfortunate. To attract two or more is really deeply questionable. We need to stop treating Reform like its normal.

If Farage and Tice can’t vet their own employees correctly then what hope have they got in running a constituency let alone a country?

Nigel Farage has just had an absolute nightmare on @GMB
This self serving, racist charlatan should be nowhere near government, same for @reformparty_uk
Well done to Susanna Reid & Ed Balls for exposing him

“The vetting company did it” might not be the vote winner he thinks.
So…. The first and only time the Reform “party” actually had to deliver *anything*, they fucked it up by giving money to highly priced private company who didn’t do what they wanted. Great, Nige; Here’s the keys to Number 10.

This is the big question.
“One quick follow-up Nigel, what do you think it is about Reform UK that attracted so many candidates with fascistic tendencies?”
