Politics election nigel farage
Led by Donkeys made an ass of Nigel Farage with a ‘message from Putin’ at a Reform UK rally
At a Reform UK rally in Essex, campaign group Led By Donkeys made an ass of Nigel Farage as they lowered a message of support for him from Vladimir Putin.
Watch what happened.
We just dropped in on Farage’s election rally with a beaming picture of Putin. Nigel was not pleased. pic.twitter.com/KeDiOMeyu6

Farage, as well as describing Putin as the leader he most admires, recently angered even some of his long-time supporters when he blamed Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine on the “ever eastward expansion of NATO and the European Union”.
The Led By Donkeys stunt may have caused an outbreak of Partridgesque fury in the room, but online – it was very different.

Like a scene from a 1970s sitcom. The pomposity of the response is comedy gold. https://t.co/3QtNxd4073

Is it infantile and base level politics? Yes.
Am I nonetheless absolutely here for it? Also yes.

I know it’s a tiny point, but who IS Farage’s tailor, and is he more than 100 years old? https://t.co/sE3JzJLaNr

The timing of the applause. The predictably vindictive response.
The pantoesque chanting. The half-arsed attempt to remove it, light shrug and exit stage left of venue staff. Rumour has it they’re all still sat there, looking at it and chanting.
Perfect execution. Chef’s kiss. https://t.co/J4lPwt6sQk

Give them the effing Turner Prize. Close the National Gallery. Civilisation has peaked.
This is the greatest artist achievement since the Sistine Chapel.
And crowdsourcing the turpentine drinking window licker who says “set fire to it”. Chef’s kiss. Beautiful. https://t.co/tqOi0zlezQ

This is the kind of harmless Farage protest anyone can get behind, no need for violence and hurling things, just hit him with the one thing that hurts him the most….. The truth
