Politics conservatives election
Losing the election may have edged Brexit Hard Man Steve Baker into his mid-life crisis
As the writing was clearly on the wall for the Conservative Government, interviewers naturally asked some of the candidates if they had a plan B. Victoria Derbyshire put the question to Tufton Street’s finest, Steve Baker, and his answer was straight from the James Bond holiday essentials handbook.

Baker claimed he was glad to be free of the old job. Not convincingly, but still …
Steve Baker, "I'm sad for our country because Labour are going to be a disaster.. I wanted to win this.. But for me personally, thank God I'm free.. It's over.. And I'm glad"
Clive Myrie, "Well that is a depressing way to end an interview Steve, thank you for that" pic.twitter.com/QBgk8deNcU

Looking at his new Twitter/X header and bio, it seems he’s ready to embrace his self-chosen Hard Man of Brexit nickname.
The most embarrassing stylings since Mark Francois dressed as a police officer for a photo shoot.
People somehow managed to uncringe long enough to share their thoughts.

Is Steve Baker ok? The fella has the energy of a recently divorced man suffering a mid life crisis who has access to the kids but they don’t want to see him. He doesn’t have the voice to podcast, he sounds like a call centre handler for Santander. What the fuck is this?! pic.twitter.com/Hm3jYSeKHx

FML. He's lost what was left of his mind. Guess he's struggling to find a niche for himself now. https://t.co/E8ytsMXRmi

My ongoing mid-life crisis of dying my hair red, going speed dating and looking at boats for sale seems pretty tame in comparison… https://t.co/7IF45PwFma

In case you thought it stopped with the Twitter/X header …it doesn’t.
If you thought Steve Baker's Twitter profile was a bit Fathers4Justice, over on Instagram he's posting sub-Partridge photo montages of himself scored by the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. pic.twitter.com/pF1FbM7n4o
