Watch this ‘man in the red jumper’ on Question Time quote chapter and verse on the historical implications of demonising immigrants
An audience member put Nigel Farage straight on his and his party’s attitude to immigration, on Thursday night, when Question Time took place in Lincoln.
He addressed the Reform UK party leader, pointing out the precedent for the dangerous rhetoric they share.
"Migrants, illegal or legal, weren't responsible for austerity. That was the Conservative government. Migrants were not responsible for Brexit. Migrants were not responsible for Liz Truss' failure of leadership."

As Farage tried to bat his comments aside, he came back with facts and figures.
Must watch, Man in red calls out Nigel Farage #BBCQT
Alastair Campbell, I do think the language that Trump used about immigrants: they're vermin, they're poisoning our blood" @campbellclaret
Nigel Farage, "That is outrageous and you know it"

Man in red sweater on #bbcqt pulling Farage apart
Farage and his little gang pull the classic playbook of the 1930s…let's hate on XXXXX….let's spin lies…let's blame a tiny minority for all our woes https://t.co/mNdMJCcUQi

“Migrants, illegal/legal, weren’t responsible for austerity. They weren’t responsible for Brexit. They weren’t responsible for Liz Truss’ failure. Cos of populist policies in the ‘30s Hitler was elected. If we follow the same blaming of migrants we will go the same way”#bbcqt pic.twitter.com/4e5hlkX8i6

We are just Germany in the 1930s instead of blaming Jews we are blaming migrants.
But they aren't responsible for Austerity, Brexit or the profiteering crisis.#bbcqt pic.twitter.com/mIYmy1KoE2

Big up the man in the red sweater. ❤️
“Migrants, illegal or legal, weren’t responsible for austerity. That was the Conservative government. Migrants and ‘illegals’ were not responsible for Brexit. Migrants were not responsible for Liz Truss’ failure of leadership.”#bbcqt pic.twitter.com/BE1Q6DuWwT

I absolutely refuse to have Nigel Farage's hateful, plummy, divisive voice in my living space, so am not watching #bbcqt
But I would like to hug the man in the red jumper for saying it like it is. https://t.co/IpLYIt7XXy— Jane Johnson 〓〓 (@JaneJohnsonBakr) December 5, 2024

The gentleman in red spoke the most truth all evening
(And if you haven’t I suggest you see his earlier contribution – he was spot on )
He exposed one trick pony Nigel Farage https://t.co/7BmfLcWbsj— Bob (@cns46z) December 6, 2024

The star of last night's #bbcqt was the man in the red jumper who pushed back eloquently and eruditely against @Nigel_Farage's proto-fascist gaslighting. Farage reverts to gormless sneering and jeering when faced with articulate challenge. pic.twitter.com/21znmLN5sl

This isn’t far off the truth.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard @Nigel_Farage say a positive word about anything or anyone ever, apart from Donald Trump.
His is a grievance grift and nothing else. Misanthropy, division, and pettiness are all he has to offer. #BBCQT
