Racist Gran Politely Agreed With During Sunday Lunch
Family News: Relatives of a bigoted old woman politely agreed and nodded along to her racist opinions during lunch yesterday.
The Morrison family, from Royston in Hertfordshire, say they don’t challenge her racist views partly out of respect, but also because she hopefully won’t be around much longer.
“I love Gran, but I wish she’d just stop blaming black people for everything. Someone’s race isn’t – and has never been – the cause of world problems,” said grandson Alistair Morrison, 7, ahead of the lunch.
“My parents tell me lots of stories about Gran when she was younger and less racist, but my main memories consist of her going on and on about how she can’t go in the corner shop anymore as it smells of curry.”
“We try and avoid any obvious triggers that might send her off on a rant,” said father of two Richard Morrison.
“Last month I burnt the roast potatoes and everything seemed to be fine until she said ‘I won’t eat the black bits’, before launching into a rant about how black people shouldn’t be allowed to drive. She didn’t shut up about it until the Vienetta came out.”
