‘Facebook’ Most Googled Term For People Who Can’t Be Bothered To Type Full Address
Tech News: The social network was the most searched-for term on Google UK by people too lazy to add the .com bit into their browser.
Google say that most search requests are not for further information on the topic, but are just from people too lazy to type an extra four characters into a browser.
“After careful analysis of data gathered during 2013 we have come to the conclusion that instead of using Google as a powerful search tool that can provide almost unlimited information, most people use it instead of typing the full name of the site they want to visit,” said Google Zeitgeist manager Thomas Chwilio.
“Either that or they use it as a spellchecker,” added Chwilio. “Which is why we have such high instances of the words ‘believe’, ‘guarantee’, ‘recommend’ and ‘they’re’ in searches.”
